Notice regarding Establishment of CHCP and Acquisition of KIT
We are pleased to announce that CHCP Pharmacy, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community Healthcare Coordination Platform, Inc. (“CHCP”) which was established by Unison Capital Partners IV, LPS and Unison Capital Partners IV(F), L.P. (collectively, “Unison”), has acquired KIT, Ltd., an operator of community pharmacies in the Northern Kanto region.
Japan’s medical and long-term care expenditures have reached ¥50 trillion, equivalent to approximately 10% of GDP, and are expected to rise with the aging society. Slowing the pace of inflationary increase in social security spending is a pressing issue in Japan, making the establishment of an efficient system for the delivery of high quality medical and long-term care necessary. Additionally, business succession needs and labor shortage are widespread in a highly fragmented market dominated by small, independent pharmacies.
Leveraging its knowledge and expertise in the Japanese healthcare industry, Unison aims to utilize CHCP as a platform to support healthcare providers with business management, alongside partners such as Mizuho Bank, Ltd., The Bank of Fukuoka, Ltd., Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., and WiL LLC. The immediate focus of CHCP’s business is the consolidation of community pharmacies in order to contribute to the construction of an Integrated Community Care System promoted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
